Caroline

From his studio in Rennes, French artist Alexis Ralaivao paints fleshy vignettes in sumptuous soft focus.  

Caroline is an original acrylic and oil painting on paper that typifies Ralaivao’s nuanced approach to portraiture, in this case realised in a refined monochromatic palette. The work has been float-mounted on acid-free mount board using archival Japanese paper loops, set in an ayous wood frame finished with silver lacquer and fitted with UV plexiglass for protection.
